Nabi Confirms Chiefs’ Interest in Sirino

Kaizer Chiefs’ new coach, Nasreddine Nabi, has confirmed rumours regarding a potential signing.

Uruguayan winger, Gaston Sirino, was one of four players who were released by Mamelodi Sundowns upon the expiry of their contracts on 30 June. Since then, the free agent has been linked to several Premier Soccer League clubs, including Amakhosi.

On Thursday, 1 August, Nabi confirmed in an interview with SuperSport TV that, among the batch of possible players he is thinking about bringing to Naturena, Sirino is definitely among those under serious consideration.

“Looking at the names you’ve given me, yes they are part of the large list that we have put together and we’re busy looking at,” the Tunisian tactician explained. “For a case like Sirino, yes, he is a very experienced player. We definitely want to look at him.”

Nabi added: “We want to see if he’s physically ready, and he would be a plus into our philosophy.”
